Repair or replace? How we make the call

When something goes wrong with your car, the obvious question is: how much will it cost to fix?

But there's another important question that should come first: what is actually the right repair?

We don't believe every worn component automatically needs to be replaced. The right solution depends on the condition of the part, the vehicle and the problem we're trying to solve.

We start with the diagnosis

Before recommending a repair, we need to understand what's causing the issue.

That might mean inspecting a component, running a diagnostic test or checking related systems.

Without understanding the cause, replacing a part can simply mask the problem.

Then we look at the condition

Some components can be repaired safely. Others are better replaced.

We'll consider the condition of the part, how it's being used and whether a repair will provide a reliable result.

Cost matters, but it isn't everything

A cheaper repair isn't always the better option if you're likely to pay for the same work again shortly afterward.

We look at the immediate cost as well as the expected lifespan and reliability of the solution.

We explain your options

If there are multiple reasonable approaches, we'll explain them.

You'll know:

What's wrong
A clear explanation of the issue.

What needs to be done
The recommended repair and why it's necessary.

What it will cost
An upfront estimate before work begins.

How urgent it is
Whether it needs immediate attention or can safely wait.

“You should never feel like you need to approve a repair you don't understand.”

The goal isn't the biggest repair

Our job is to keep your vehicle safe, reliable and running properly—not to sell you work you don't need.

If your car isn't driving the way it should, bring it in. We'll diagnose the problem, explain what we find and help you decide what to do next.

Let's get you back on the road

Tell us what's going on with your vehicle and we'll help find the right solution
